Our patron Lord St. Oswald, unveils a new refreshed blue plaque on the site of the first century A.D. Roman fort.
Also revealed is a QR code plaque which will take you to a YouTube video with a short history of the fort and the immediate area.
This video is a 90 second audio/video description of Castleford's 1st century fort. The Chantry Vets site's foundations are on the ancient ramparts of this fort.
The video was commissioned by Castleford Civic Society and produced by stoneground.media.
The video was both written and narrated by local historian, David Pickersgill in March 2024.
